Nuggets Eye Knicks’ Josh Hart in Bold Trade Proposal Involving Three Players and a Future First-Round Pick

The Denver Nuggets made significant offseason moves, including acquiring Cam Johnson, positioning themselves as strong contenders for the Western Conference title—and possibly the NBA championship—behind only the Oklahoma City Thunder.

While Denver boasts the league’s top talent and a bolstered supporting cast, some analysts believe they still need additional depth. Sports Illustrated’s Ethen Hutton recently floated a trade idea that would send Josh Hart from the New York Knicks to Denver. However, the cost might be steep.

Proposed Trade Details:

  • To New York Knicks: Christian Braun, Zeke Nnaji, Peyton Watson, 2031 first-round pick
  • To Denver Nuggets: Josh Hart

Hutton argues that while Braun has become a reliable contributor alongside Nikola Jokić, Denver lacks a postseason performer like Hart—someone known for stepping up in clutch moments, rebounding aggressively, and playing with high energy. Hart’s two-way versatility could help stabilize a Nuggets defense that’s slipped in recent seasons.

Still, the trade raises questions. Hart is a solid role player, but giving up three young assets and a future first-rounder under the current CBA could be risky. If Denver’s championship window narrows, that pick might be crucial for a bigger move down the line.
